Adam Hero Overview
- Archetype & Lore: A gunslinger and bounty hunter from deep space. Story elements suggest connections with Arachne and Eva.
- Special Classification: Belongs to the Hunter Special category and has official synergies with Astrid and Eva.
- Meta Position (2026): His playstyle is similar to Lara Croft and Dark Star, but he is an exceptionally powerful physical DPS in the 2026 meta. He outperforms conventional ranged attackers, can fight both Magic and physical teams, and is particularly effective in Conquest Area.

Strengths & Core Mechanics
- Hunter’s Mark & First Skill Resets: His first Skill deals heavy damage while applying a Hunter’s Mark to enemies. If he defeats an enemy with Hunter’s Mark, he can immediately use his first Skill again. This allows him to pressure the opposing team through consecutive activations of his first Skill. Hunter’s Mark cannot be removed by most methods.
- Durability & Scaling: Adam is a backline DPS with relatively low HP and Armor, but he has an Evasion stat and can evade Magic and Pure Damage through his third Skill. His fourth Skill gradually increases his Physical Attack and Armor Penetration as the battle continues, which works particularly well with repeated activations of his first Skill. If the team can maintain its durability, Adam eventually reaches a point where he can eliminate the opposing team all at once. This is his typical win condition.
- Lara Croft Comparison: Although the activation logic is completely different, Adam’s playstyle is similar to Lara Croft in that he has a breakpoint where he can eliminate the opposing team all at once. As of 2026, Adam has stronger synergies with Heroes that are easier to use and fits the meta better in that respect.
Hero Synergies & Team Composition
- Eva: Eva’s second Skill applies Hunter’s Mark, while her fourth Skill makes effective use of Hunter’s Mark, forming an official combo with Adam.
- Astrid: Adam synergizes with Astrid through her Ascension Skills and the Hunter effect. However, this only becomes meaningful when Astrid’s Ascension Skills are fully upgraded. Astrid has never been a particularly strong Hero over the course of her history, and teams generally function better by relying on Julius or Dorian for durability.
- Dante: Adam has good synergy with Dante’s Evasion buff. A Dante tank can act as a shield while Adam attacks from the backline. However, there are also situations where Lara Croft or Iris works better for this purpose.
- Dorian: Adam has strong synergy with Dorian’s Vampirism buff, allowing him to perform effectively even when his durability is inconsistent.
- Somna: Adam has good synergy with Somna’s Sheep debuff, making it easier to build a physically durable team. While Somna buys time, Adam’s offensive capabilities continue to increase, making it easier to establish his win condition.
- Sebastian & Axel: Adam has strong synergy with Sebastian, but is positioned behind him. Therefore, the 0-turn Sebastian setup using a Preparation War Flag is not possible. However, Adam can gain substantial Energy through Evasion, so combining him with manual Axel and a combo can be effective by deliberately allowing Fluffy to nullify his Ultimate Skill.
- Electra: When the opposing team uses Electra as its tank, Adam is likely to steadily increase his Physical Attack, making him a strong counter to Electra.
Weaknesses & Operational Limitations
- Hunter’s Mark Dependency: Adam is heavily dependent on Hunter’s Mark. If he cannot survive long enough to reach a situation where he can defeat enemies consecutively, he cannot establish his win condition. His survival also relies heavily on luck-dependent factors such as Evasion, making him inconsistent. In practice, reliable wins require significant support from the entire team.
- Lara Croft Comparison: While Adam has better overall performance than Lara Croft, he does not possess Lara Croft’s unique utility, such as team-wide Stuns through Mara or versatile buffs for the entire team. As a result, the two can serve different roles depending on the situation. There are also double-gunslinger teams using both Lara Croft and Adam. This can be an alternative for players who do not own Lara Croft, but it is not a complete replacement, including due to Talent considerations.
- Artifact & Energy Constraints: Adam has an Evasion stat, but his first Artifact is not an Evasion Artifact, making his performance inconsistent. However, his Energy gain relies heavily on Evasion, so successful evasion is important. Because of this, distributing Energy through Axel is often important, but this can be difficult to utilize without manual control, making Adam somewhat demanding to use.
- Enemy Evasion: Adam relies on Evasion himself but is vulnerable when the opposing team can evade his attacks. To compensate for this, he needs to be paired with Lyria or Control Heroes. However, he does not have particularly strong synergy with Control Heroes other than Somna. Building a team against Dante or Aurora therefore comes with significant composition constraints.
- Dorian Positioning: Adam’s synergy with Dorian is powerful, but if more than two Heroes are positioned between them, Adam is likely to be pushed outside the range of the Vampirism buff. This creates team composition constraints. Since positioning also depends on factors such as whether the enemy or allied team has a tank, it is often difficult to determine whether the synergy with Dorian will work as expected without testing it beforehand in Combat Training.
- Sebastian Dependency & CoW: Compared with other physical DPS Heroes, Adam is less dependent on Sebastian. However, when building a team without Sebastian, the results become more susceptible to environmental variables, making it more likely that the team will not win as expected. When considering two physical attacks in CoW, you may end up competing for Sebastian, making Adam just as difficult to use as other physical DPS Heroes.
- Beginner Investment: Although Adam is an extremely powerful DPS, he is fragile compared with self-sufficient Heroes such as Dante and Ishmael, who combine offensive capabilities with their own durability. Adam relies on team synergy to perform at his best, so despite his strong offensive capabilities, he is not an easy DPS to choose as a first investment for beginners.
- Fixed Team Limitations: Because Adam’s concept revolves around fighting as part of a team, he requires multiple team slots for the necessary functions, making it difficult to fit everything into a five-Hero lineup. As a result, he is difficult to use effectively with a fixed team.
- Conquest Area: Teams incorporating Adam can defeat both physical and Magic teams in Conquest Area. However, the team compositions that are effective against Magic teams are somewhat limited. Using Isaac to address this limitation makes it difficult to finish off physical teams, so it is not possible to create a single team that is unbeatable against everything. Ultimately, you need to choose the opponent and the situation in which to use him.
- Guild Raid: Adam can perform well in Guild Raids, but he is not as essential as Isaac or Cornelius. He falls into the category of a Hero who is good to have rather than a must-have.
