Changes to Cyber-Con 2025

  • The event duration has been shortened from seven days to six, and login quests are now limited to six days as well.
  • The Energy Consumption Quest has increased from 4,000 to 10,000, and the rewards have risen accordingly (Tip Keys: 11 → 20). Since Bottled Energy is now easier to obtain, free-to-play players might be able to complete the 10,000 requirement. However, the quest still isn’t particularly appealing.
  • The rewards for the Spend Emerald quests have dropped significantly compared to 2024 (Chip Keys total: 310 → 154).
  • Unlike previous years, Cyber-Con will no longer run alongside Black Friday, when multiple gachas received discounted rates. This is a major change, as the event was originally designed to encourage emerald spending during Black Friday.
  • Instead, Emerald City will run concurrently. Like the main event, it lasts six days and progresses through quests.
  • A dedicated island will also appear on Mystery Island for six days.
  • Cascade and Massy & Shroom are receiving new skins. These are currently paid exclusives and may become obtainable for Skin Stones later. While this is effectively the main attraction this year, its appeal depends entirely on willingness to pay, so it does little to enhance overall enjoyment.
  • The Cyber Vault has been inexplicably renamed the “Forgotten Vault.”
  • Rewards in the Forgotten Vault feel weaker than in previous years and provide little incentive to participate.
  • New skins and frames are also being introduced.
  • Overall, Cyber-Con 2025 feels underwhelming, and most players may prefer to focus on other events and treat this one casually.

New Skins

  • New skins have been added for Mushy & Shroom and for Cascade.
  • They are available exclusively through the in-event skin shop, just like last year’s Polaris (which is now obtainable for 5,000 Skin Stones).

You should also consider the Strongbox

  • There isn’t anything particularly desirable in this year’s Cyber Vault.
  • If that’s the case, you could hold onto your Chip Keys for a year and wait for the contents to be updated at the next Cyber-Con.
  • However, there’s a risk that the event items will change next year. Doing so also sacrifices efficiency in the meantime, and delaying your power-ups for a full year results in opportunity loss.
  • Because these risks and drawbacks are significant, holding Chip Keys isn’t necessarily the optimal choice. Ultimately, it becomes a judgment call with a bit of a gambling element.
