Hero Battle Guide

• A special effect applied to enemy heroes.
• Once classified as a debuff, but no longer treated as one.
• Commonly applied by Krista, Lars, and Cascade.

How to Apply Water Mark

• Krista’s 2nd skill (Chains of Frost): Applies the mark when attacking.
• Krista’s 3rd skill (Frozen Needles): Applies the mark to enemies on the field when the effect ends. Exceptions exist (e.g., Kayla during dive), but it usually affects most.
• Lars’s 1st skill (Lord of the Storm): Applies the mark to enemies caught in the storm (again, exceptions like Kayla in dive).
• Cascade’s 2nd skill (via 3rd skill, Refluence): Applies the mark to most enemies for 5 seconds after charging in.

Effects of Water Mark

• Krista (Ascension Skill V: Generous Water Marks): Recovers Health equal to 50% of magic damage dealt.
• Lars (4th skill: Conductance): Increases the magic damage Lars himself deals to marked enemies and extends the duration of stuns he inflicts.
• Cascade (3rd skill: Refluence): Marked enemies take additional magic damage.

Team Composition Theory

• All effects trigger regardless of who applied the Water Mark.
• A hero must be present on the team for their specific effect to activate.
• To benefit from all three, Krista, Lars, and Cascade must all be included.
• With only one or two, uptime decreases and benefits are limited.

Concept of Water Mark

• The healing from Krista’s Ascension Skill is the most impactful effect, enabling high-damage teams without a dedicated healer.
• This makes Krista the core hero for Water Mark setups.
• However, the skill requires Ascension Rank 5, making it a significant investment.
• The buff enhances magic damage, creating strong synergy with other magic damage dealers.
• It does not counter anti-magic (e.g., Isaac, Thea), which remain nearly hard counters.

Team-Building Considerations

• Magic Penetration is essential, especially for Krista.
  • Her Magic Penetration skin is a must-have.
  • Buffs from allies further stabilize performance.
• Since the healing works like lifesteal, it’s best to use multiple consistent damage-dealers.
• Krista and Cascade have fast attack deployment and frequent casts, pairing well with heroes like Augustus or Orion rather than one-shot burst DPS like Amira or Folio.
• A tank can be used, but Krista tank setups are currently favored for their speed.
