Official Message: July Events!

- ☀️ Summer has arrived in Dominion! While the days are getting hotter, July is bringing plenty of adventures, familiar events, and exciting rewards, including the Summer Festival and a few new additions we can’t wait to share with you — so be sure to keep an eye on the calendar so you don’t miss what’s ahead!
- 🏆 July also brings updated Tournament of Power rewards. Hero Tournaments will now reward Golden Threads instead of Emeralds, while Titan Tournaments will reward Primal and Elemental Catalysts.
- And one more thing, Guardians: as mentioned before, we’ve reduced the number of recurring event posts in the feed, but don’t worry — all Energy rewards will still be evenly distributed throughout the month.
- Whenever you want to check what’s coming next, this calendar will help you stay on track!
Official Community Manager FAQ
Titles are tailored to the content.
1. Honey Lantern Reward Timing and Post-Event Conversion Rules Explained
- Q. I have a question. If I activate the honey lantern example to level 5 on 2026.07.09 at 4:01 GMT+2, the last cycle will end on 2026.07.13 at 4:01 GMT+2. Will I then receive 6000 honey in a mail after the event? It wouldn’t make much sense, since I can’t use it.
A solution would be if the lantern gave the reward at the beginning of the cycle, not at the end of the cycle. When I turned on the lantern, I get the first reward, when the last cycle starts, on 2026.07.12 at 20:01 GMT+2 (8 hour cycle), I would get the last reward.
I would have time to use the honey. - A. Good question, yes, your assumption is correct, you will get it in the mail and it will be exchanged at the rate applied at the end of the event, listed [here](https://support-hwde.nexters.com/hc/en-us/articles/28215367283090-Summer-Festival-July-6-July-13-2026)
And thank you for the suggestion, it seems like it could be an interesting solution, but could have drawbacks that I’m just not seeing. I’ll share it with the team!
2. Summer Festival Feedback Collected and Shared with the Development Team
- Response to Summer Festival Feedback
- As many of you already guessed I will combine all the Summerfest posts in one reply, unless it’s something specific.
- One point I saw was about guild lock, it was the same as we had at Winterfest, and it worked well to combat abuse back then, and we decided to adapt it for this iteration. We understand that this is not a perfect solution and some players got affected by it. That’s why we decided to announce it in advance so that people can adjust and plan.
- Another point is the overall balance and event economy. Not much I can say here, it’s similar to other events we changed recently, we are adjusting the economy. I understand that many of you are frustrated and sharing your frustration, that’s completely understandable. Let’s just stay civil and keep following the rules.
- All productive discussions and constructive feedback are encouraged, but toxicity will not be tolerated.
- From my side of things I will be gathering your feedback and sharing it with the team.
3. Summer Bundle Reward Representation Feedback Shared with the Team
- Q. This is an outright lie. Step 1 spend resources to fill the meter (not the bank) Step 2 spend real money to get a pittance of resources. There are no rewards to collect. Only resources to be purchased.
- A. Thanks for sharing this feedback. We’ve discussed it internally and for now decided that in the offer itself it’s pretty obvious that it costs money (see screenshot), but I will pass along that you want it clearly stated in the infobox as well.
4. Guild Admission Restriction Feature Request Reshared with the Development Team
- Q. Need to add a feature that prohibits accepting teammates into a guild (even if there are free spots)…this setting should be set by guild master and accessible at any time…Our Guild also has 29 players right now, and we had to add a noob to prevent a random player from joining us…
- A. Noted, thanks for the suggestion. It’s not the first time I see this, but I’ll bring it up to the team again.
5. Summer Festival Change Concerns Forwarded to the Team
- Q. Hello Community Managers. This event redesign is so bad that even Dmitry himself is angry at how bad it is. One of the sacred core tenets of Hero Wars is that you do not make Dmitry angry. Please send this meme to the higher ups to show our dissatisfaction with the event. (Also tell Dmitry I said hi)
- A. As promised, I will pass it along 🤝
6. Guild Lock Recognized as an Effective Anti-Abuse Measure During Winterfest
- Q. With all my respect, im gonna quote what you answered in board and simultaneously strongly disagree:
“One point I saw was about guild lock, it was the same as we had at Winterfest, and it worked well to combat abuse back then, and we decided to adapt it for this iteration. “
Maybe im misunderstanding something, or believing too much in my “lying eyes”, but i cant remember Winterfest in a word apart from “fiasco”. And ill extend it beyond just the guild lock. Plenty of users with guilds full of farm bots, that weren’t removed not just from the game, but from the event as you came to tell us it wold happen. Sure, they could have done it with more than 29 accounts without the lock, but as far as i experienced it, you did nothing to prevent even those 29 bot accounts. Later on, was a mode where you had to hoard the cookies in order to raise the hives, instead of using them to send more gifts between members (which i assume was the original target for the event).
And being honest, you can now just join any guild you want to harass and they wont be able to get rid of you, how that is combating abuse? For sure every guild member can just block that account so you dont have to read him, but he still will be reading guild chat etc, and mocking you becouse you cant get rid of him.
Also, in winterfest it didn’t just happened just in the “Week Off-Change server Cow cool down” which makes no sense to begin with.
So, the question is, with the hand in your heart, you can really tell that “it worked well”? - A. I think we’re talking about a different purpose. Has it worked to combat abuse during winterfest for example? Yes, to my understanding very much so.
7. Request for More Engaging Gameplay Options and Mini-Games Shared with the Team
- Q. I recall some events having quests that actually involved doing something. The Great Storm, for example, was an event with its own minigame based on adventures, where skill had a great impact on the outcome. Eventually it got repetitive, with the story remaining the same through the years and I lost interest in the rewards. But it’s an example of an actually good event (minus the repetitiveness).
Meanwhile, the new events are very much unlike this – most are reduced almost entirely to spending quests – buy 9k VIP points, spend 180k emeralds, open 460 outland chests etc, nonsense like that. Some events even ask for 21k VIP points in 3 days, eww. The quests are becoming just an incentive to open up our wallets, and I’m finding it difficult to find any game at all in this advertisement application. - A. Thank you for your feedback, and writing it out. For the most part event quests, even in Great Storm, were always about using resources – opening chests, spending or buying emeralds and such.
But I do agree that events with mini games or unique gameplay mechanics are fun, it’s one of the reasons why adventures are important, and even the quests in adventures are often tied to “max this hero/titan”, quests that encourage actually playing through the adventure.
I will let the team know that there is a request for more fun ways of playing.
8. Improving Advance Notice for Major Changes Remains a Communication Priority
- Q. I would like to give some constructive feedback regarding the recent Tournament reward changes.
The actual reward changes are not my main concern. My biggest concern is how and when they were communicated.
Many players, especially F2P and low-spending players, plan their resources months in advance. We intentionally delay upgrading Heroes, Titans, Artifacts, Skins, Seals, and many other resources because the Tournament system rewarded long-term planning.
Personally, I deliberately postponed developing Titans like Lumira and Verdoc. I even skipped resources during their release events because I wanted to save that progression for future Titan Tournaments.
With less than 24 hours’ notice, that entire strategy suddenly became obsolete.
This isn’t about wanting the old rewards back. It is about having enough time to adapt to fundamental changes that affect months of planning.
Some questions I would genuinely like to ask:
How long had these Tournament changes been planned internally?
Was this decision made weeks ago, months ago, or only very recently?
If it was planned for a longer period, why wasn’t the community informed earlier?
A change of this magnitude affects how many players manage their accounts over several months. Giving players only a few hours to react makes it impossible to adjust their long-term strategies.
A while ago, Nexters mentioned that they wanted to improve communication with the community and be more transparent about future changes. I sincerely hope that commitment is still a priority.
For future updates like this, I believe it would be much fairer to announce major gameplay or economy changes 3–6 months in advance, or at least several weeks before they take effect.
That would allow players to adapt their resource management instead of discovering that months of planning have suddenly become irrelevant overnight.
I don’t mind adapting to new systems. I simply hope that in the future we receive enough notice to do so properly.
THX!!! - A.
Thank you for taking the time to write this out so constructively, I really appreciate it.
In this particular case, we had known about the change for a few weeks before the announcement. However, we couldn’t communicate it earlier because the implementation was still ongoing and we needed to make sure everything was finalised and properly tested. As soon as we had the final confirmation, we shared it on Starboard.
As we’ve discussed before, improving communication around impactful changes is something we’re actively working on. That doesn’t mean we’ll always be able to announce changes weeks or months in advance, sometimes that’s simply not possible.
That said, you’re absolutely right that giving players more notice whenever possible should be the goal, and improving communication remains a priority for the team.
We’ve also had quite a few discussions about the Tournament reward changes, so I’ll keep this part brief and combine them, my answer hasn’t really changed from what I said last week. This is part of a broader review of the game’s economy and of specific events. I completely understand that not everyone agrees with the direction, and I’ve shared that feedback with the team. For the time being, the changes will remain in place, although, as with any live game, the reward structure may evolve again in the future.
9. Emerald Reward Reduction Will Remain Unchanged for the Time Being
- Q. take away the fun for the F2P players who needs emeralds, taking away the emeralds away from events and also the piggy bank where we get a portion of the gems back for free is really unfair and you are spoiling this game for all the players, bring back the emeralds
- A. I’ve answered it earlier QA No.xxx, I hear your requests, but the rewards will stay the same for now.
10. Hero, Titan, and Event Release Pace Will Remain Mostly Unchanged
- Q. “STEALING” our EMERALDS IS WRONG!
It might be the right thing to do on a “Sinking ship.” It’s not the right thing to do here. (Yet?)
IF Alliance/Mobile is hypothetically a “sinking ship”….
They should treat it like a sinking ship. Nexters is part of a publically traded company and are legally obligated to try to make money.
But if HWDE Web/Facebook isn’t/wasn’t a “Sinking Ship”…. AND I REALLY DON’T THINK IT IS (yet?)…
They shouldn’t be treating it like a sinking ship!
But I think that’s what’s happening. They’re treating a healthy game like a sinking ship.
On the “sinking ship” games, you cut back on ads (and/or other expenses,) and see what you can get from the existing users BEFORE THEY QUIT.
But if I’m right that this game was healthy, and is still covering their expenses without trying too hard to milk the users,
then they should keep doing what they were doing. Roughly around the time right before AoC is my best estimate for things starting to change.
As a player, I don’t like the monthly drops of Heroes and Titans, but for the company’s profit, I think lots of work on new hero EVENTS and the QUALITY of new Heroes is good. Increasing the NUMBER of the Heroes and events is not so good though!
Lessening rewards on existing events just plain stinks.
For their players and their profits.
Personally, I don’t think new heroes/titans should be dropped monthly (that is a new change and is too much).
And that going nuts making Titans and TOTEMS a big confusing mess is bad too.
We already have Hero Wars. We don’t need “Titan Wars: The Extra money sucking/GAMBLING Era” to go with it.
Not a new set of Totem-skills. Not new Titans. Not so damn many titans types.
We already have Water, Earth, Fire, Light and Dark.
We don’t need: WIND, soft, hard, engineer, warrior, fuzzy, vomit-class, chewed-but-not-pre-digested, medium-dark-grey, or dozens of other classes.
Honestly, as a player I HATE Totem Fusion, but as advice, I think players were more receptive to them than I expected. But Totem Fusion should be somehow held back several levels. It confuses new players! They shouldn’t have players that quit before they understand the game. IF they can still understand the game.
The need to be careful how they treat this. They also might be (for all I know) hiring on new managerial talent.
If so, they HAVE TO BE CAREFUL…. because such “business school people” have probably learned how to deal with a Mobile game.
Including how they tend to eventually become a “Sinking ship.”
BUT THIS ISN’T A MOBILE GAME AND SHOULDN’T BE TREATED LIKE ONE.
Important note: I’m dyslexic and these are my opinions. No one should base stock investments on this or even assume it’s correct for those purpsoe. I’m trying to HELP NEXTERS OUT to make the best Hero Wars Dominion Era (Web/facebook) that they can!
Back when Nexters “knew what they were doing”, I think Titans were made to ensure people participated in guilds.
Now, they’re acting like Titans are the new type of Heroes. I’m not sure, but I think that causes more confusion than good for most players and will affect their revenue as such. As a player, I KNOW I, personally, hate the expansion of Titans/Totems. Let me finish my collection like I wanted to once I became guildmaster for the first time.
Again: I originally posted a very related reply to @prietess here, but moved that reply to the-tavern . It has some of my estimates that are more specific than what I wrote here.
Lastly: Don’t fix it if it ain’t broke.
If you’re still getting an influx of new players at less than the cost of aquistion, don’t let the Alliance/Mobile situation confuse you.
You don’t need “greedier” new events and stuff. The new Heroes are more than enough keep this looking “Fresh”, so you got that part covered. - A. I’m not sure what to say here but thanks for sharing your opinion, I wouldn’t consider any of our games “a sinking ship”, but I appreciate you sharing your perspective.
We often discuss the pacing of events/releases here and my answer hasn’t really changed, for now the pacing will stay roughly the same. I get that rebalancing and lessening rewards stinks, but we have to consider a lot of factors in those decisions.
I’m also happy that you like the quality of new heroes and titans, I’ll pass it along to the content team, they will be happy to hear that.
11. Earlier Announcements Are Not Always Possible, but Communication Improvements Continue
- Q. When the normal process is decide, incorporate, and maybe announce a day before…. Will see if anything changes. League arena has been the only true thing that was announced and tested before deciding not introducing full scale. On another note, has there been any decision on improving the support function for the game?
- A. So on the emeralds in ToP point, I’ve answered it on No .XXX, we were waiting for a final confirmation. It was not possible to announce it way in advance. We try to do our best with that, but it’s not always possible
12. Concerns About Progression Gaps Between New and Veteran Players Shared
- Q. Great Storm was the way to level up pets, servers like the 6XX are now stuck without this event, so their progress is absolutely terrible. What was repetitive for some it was the opportunity for new.
And that goes on an on. Cosmic Battle has a quest that needs eggs, people say they had tons of eggs.,. And what about the new ones? They need to do adventures, they need to improve level but the ratio without this events is terrible at this point.
They are not just exploding the fan base; they are pushing away any new player with more absolute greediness . It’s clear it’s a company and they need to profit, but the difference between payers speed and normal players is now abysmal. - A. Finding the right balance between long-term progression, meaningful goals for veteran players and keeping the game approachable for newer players is never simple, but I do understand why players are worried when they feel that gap is growing.
I’ll make sure that perspective is included in the feedback. And I’ll note the wish for TGS to return.
13. Mechanical Skin Unlocks Recognized as an Example of Community Feedback Impact
- Q. The mechanical skins were promised to be available shortly after their first release. Even without spending!! Yet it took over a year of asking, reminding & even complaining from the community to get the thing we were promised in the first place. And that’s the best example for “the community influencing the game” we get? Really?
- A. I get that it’s not a perfect example, but an example nonetheless. During my time here, it was discussed internally and then unlock happened, it’s not perfect but I’m happy about that regardless.
14. Cosmic Battle Defense Reward Chest Conversion Issue Fixed
- Q. i opened a “Successfull Cosmic Battle Defense” mail today and collect the coin, then i refresh the web but didnt get the Cosmic Battle Chest. Why is that ? on the last event, i still get the chest.
- A. Hello, this was fixed a couple of hours ago, please reload the game. Apologies for the inconvenience.
15. Clash of Worlds Defense Buff Issue Under Investigation and Resolution in Progress
- Q. The Clash of Worlds case requires an immediate solution! It doesn’t matter what actually happened (whether it was a bug or a feature—you’ll figure it out later), what IS important is the SOLUTION: your programmers either urgently adjust the buff scale in trainings to the new field conditions or revert to the old values in the field itself. A situation where it’s impossible to create an accurate training for 10 defense spots is absolutely unacceptable! (don’t encourage cheaters; they are already living great.) This really needs to be resolved ASAP – there’s only one working day left, then it’s the weekend and the start of the new season.
- A. The team is on it, I’ll keep you posted when I can.
16. CoW Defense Buff Changes Are Intentional for This Season, with Combat Training Adjustments Planned
- Q. Could you please tell us if this is intended or a bug what you changed in the COW defense buffs?
Looks a bit weird since it’s just “back to 2022” with the buffs, exactly like they were in the first season of COW in 2022:
– 10% per Tank in the Foundry (was 8% since COW-Season II),
– 5% per Control Hero in the Engineerium (was 4% since COW-Season II),
– no more buffs in the Lighthouse (was 1% per Support Hero since COW-Season II).
So it looks a bit like a bug to me and not as intended…
EDIT: And if this is intended, please take care that you also update the Combat Training settings. So far, for example, 200% is the max buff you can simulate in Combat Training for the health-buff. But 250% would be possible with the new buffs in the Foundry. - A. Hello, lovely people, the team looked into the CoW issue, and I have an update.
It looks like someone on the CoW team left us an unexpected “Easter egg” in the form of an experimental season. The current buff values don’t appear to be an unintended configuration.
The buff values themselves will remain as they are for this season. However, the team agrees that Combat Training should accurately reflect the actual CoW conditions, and that’s what they’re working on now. Unfortunately, the update won’t be ready before the season starts, but the plan is to have the Combat Training buffs adjusted during the first week of the season.
I know that’s not ideal for guilds preparing their strategies right now, and I’m sorry about that. If anything changes or the timeline shifts, I’ll make sure to let you know.
17. No Specific Experiment Behind CoW Buff Changes, Fix Delayed by Technical Constraints
- Q. CM would you please consider to communicate not just the WHAT (the fact that the buffs are going to stay like this for the next season) but also your INTENTION (what you are trying to achieve with this ‘experiment’?).this would for us very much increase the value of your ‘communication’ which is currently consisting mostly of confirming or denying that one of the unnanounced changes was unintended “a bug” or intended “a feature”.thank you.
- A. There is no specific intention here, we’re not testing anything specific. In this case, the fix is too complicated before the start season, from my understanding at least.
18. CoW Defense Buff Changes Were Unintended and Expected to Revert Next Season
- Q. Ok…let’s discuss about scripts cheaters…why you up buffs for CoW?! Its crazy😡 😡 😡
- A. It was not intended, next season should be back to regular settings as far as I understand
19. Immediate CoW Buff Fix Not Possible, but Combat Training Update Planned
- Q. Please make standard buffs for CoW…no need experiments 😔 🥃
- A. I’m very sorry about this, this was not intended and we plan to fix CT, but I don’t think a fix for the buffs is possible at this time
20. Player Feedback Is Regularly Compiled and Escalated to the Development Team
- Q. I still think nothing actually gets passed on to the devs and it’s just their corporate-approved message to keep customers happy. It’s what we did in my old job. Just pretend we forwarded feedback/complaints and did nothing else.
- A. We discussed it in chat, and I explained it a bit, but let’s chat about it here as well.
Part of my job is gathering and escalating feedback. I do weekly and monthly feedback digests for the team. So I can assure you that it is forwarded and seen by the team.
One thing you have to keep in mind is that feedback (generally and not related to any specific issue or discussion) does not always work in a simple pattern where the community is frustrated about something, the feedback is passed on, and then the exact change players ask for happens. Sometimes feedback leads to adjustments, sometimes it is considered for future events, and sometimes the final decision remains the same for reasons I may not be able to share or influence. That does not mean the feedback was not read or passed on.
There are also examples where community feedback has directly influenced the game. Things like making Mechanical Skins being unlocked, and a clear path to Seer’s Game skins unlock, those are all examples where player discussions contributed to later decisions.
I’m not saying every request will end the same way, because it won’t. But those examples are why I genuinely believe it’s worth continuing to collect, organise and escalate feedback rather than assuming it disappears into a void.
21. Community Feedback Is Shared with Additional Context for Better Understanding
- Q. I’m telling you, come Wednesday, their CM will copy-paste this exact corporate response: ‘I think your suggestion is great! I’ve logged it and shared it with our development team…'” 😂
- A. Thank you for the suggestion, I’ll pass it along to….. I guess me in this case? 😄 On a more serious note, I do get that from your perspective it often looks like the same answer. But I promise I try to do my best and provide you with details when I can. And vice versa to provide all the context of your feedback to the team.
22. Player Suggestions Are Considered Alongside Multiple Internal and External Factors
- Q. Just hard to do so when we get the same sort of responses each time “this is the decision the team has decided to head,” we hear you,” “your feedback has been passed to the developers” and nothing really changes.
- A. I’ve shared my thoughts on this topic earlier No.20, I get why it feels disheartening when you constantly give feedback and specific things you want changed don’t change, but there is a lot to consider in the equation. Feedback is not always implemented, like I said earlier. There is a vision the team has for the game, and business goals, participation rates and so many more internal and external factors.
23. Community Managers Serve as a Bridge Between Players and the Development Team
- Q. You are the only link to Nexters—you aren’t Nexters yourself.
The people dictating the game’s strategy don’t give a damn about the players (not even the ones who spend money here), so they shouldn’t expect any respect in return. Respect isn’t just given; it has to be earned.
The only competition the game offers now is a contest of who spends the most money—and you don’t get much for it.
Let people vent and complain if you want an honest picture of the mood before frustration turns into anger. The players have good reasons—and thus every right—to complain and get annoyed about the game’s development.
I really can’t stand these sanitized platitudes anymore. If Nexters doesn’t like the players’ mood, it’s up to them to do something about it. Silencing them makes neither the game nor the atmosphere any better. Nexters want constructive criticism? Then they should actually implement some of the things players are suggesting. The same requests have been made countless times over the years, yet nothing happens. Many people have long since given up on contributing anything constructive here. I, too, have lost all desire to keep whispering into the void. Eventually, I’ll do what those guildmates we sorely miss did during the last year: leave the game in resignation—unheard—disappointed – because it costs too much money and demands ever-increasing amounts of time. You can’t afford both in the long run if you still have obligations in real life. - A. My job is to be the bridge between the community and the team, to make sure your feedback is represented as accurately as possible. And additionally fostering a better environment on this server, which is something I’m always trying to improve.
I agree that constructive criticism is valuable, even when it’s critical. I don’t expect everyone to be happy with every decision, and I don’t want players to feel they can’t express frustration. I don’t mind criticism at all. In fact, I think it’s one of the most valuable parts of this community.
What I appreciate is when that criticism comes in a way that leaves room for a conversation, and I think your message is a good example of that, and I really appreciate you taking the time to explain your perspective so clearly.
24. Feedback on Fair Competition and Transparent Progression Shared with the Team
- Q. Many are on edge… I believed that HW is a game for decades…have also been playing for more than 5 years..for 5 years have been GM in guild that brought Nexters a couple of million dollars…but my opinion on game development is not interesting to them (as well as yours, as well as opinion of many talented players)…
I do not understand why they step on same rake every month…they need to understand 2 important fundamental principles when planning game development:
1 – any content, event, update must be designed through prism of cheaters (scripts)
…scripts destroy entire competitive process…fair play = user trust = desire to spend money and time…for example, they remove emeralds from ToTP but save them in Asgard and ToE (where cheaters farm emeralds for years… and I am silent about how much titanite is farmed with help of a script)
2 – a clear price
…casino tricks that filled game are poison… any product sold in game must have clear price list and mathematical structure - A. I recognise both concerns you’re bringing up.
Fair competition is incredibly important, and it’s something the team does take into account when designing new events and systems. We’ve made changes with that in mind before, for example, introducing the guild lock before Summerfest. But it’s an ongoing fight.
I also agree that clear rules and transparent progression matter. Players should understand how an event works and what they’re progressing towards. That’s one of the reasons we’ve started including rates and other relevant information directly inside newer events, so players have better visibility into how those systems work.
I can’t promise we’ll always get the balance right, but we’ll do our best. And I’ll make sure this perspective is included in the feedback digest as well. Thanks for taking the time to write it out.
25. Cheating Prevention, Transparency, and Monetization Balance Remain Key Challenges for the Game
- Q. You/Nexters team need to think about 3 things, otherwise very soon many loyal players will leave the game:
1. Optimize game taking into account cheaters using scripts (if you can’t beat them)
2. Review casino mechanics in game and bring everything to clear prices
3. Overcome greed (stop making new content only for new money)
…these are 3 foundations to save game…otherwise you and other guys from Nexters will have to look for a new job (unless of course this is your current goal)😉 🥃 - A. 1. We’re trying. That doesn’t mean we’ll always get it right, but it is absolutely a priority.
2. Games of chance have always been part of games to some extent, but I understand the request for more transparency. Like I said above, that’s one of the reasons you’ve seen us start adding clearer information directly into newer events
3. Personally I could spend hours discussing late stage capitalism, but this is not a place for that 😄 On a more serious note, of course we’re a business, and profitability is part of building and maintaining a live game.
