  • our familiar Autumn Festival, the return of Prestige with expanded progression, and a new Ascension Season are all waiting for you this month.
  • 🐾 This year, the Autumn Festival is making way for the Mead Festival, and it’s bringing plenty of changes with it! Robin will make his debut during the celebration, while you and your Guild will fill the Honey Barrel, progress through a shared Battle Pass, explore the seasonal map and its Generators, and compete in personal and Guild rankings for valuable rewards.
  • 🏆 Prestige also returns after its short break, now with expanded progression and more ways to get something out of the system. And later in the month, Martha takes the spotlight in the second Ascension Season, bringing two new Ascension Skills focused on speeding up her allies and protecting the backline.
  • There’s plenty more happening throughout October, so keep this calendar close and start planning ahead!

1. Resource Scarcity, Monetization Pressure, and the Game’s Long-Term Outlook

  • Q. I wrote that three weeks ago, and the trend is continuing. The aim is to create additional purchasing incentives and drive up prices through the artificial scarcity of resources. I assume that this strategy will no longer work good for Nexters, but rather that more players will give up the game. In my opinion, that is the best thing paying players can do right now, because Nexters is not going to stop pursuing this monetization trend. Or switch to F2P until the game is no longer financially viable for Nexters at all—that way, at least the game’s death will come sooner but you save money and hassle. I myself will be leaving the game for good towards the end of the year. And until then, I’ll scrape by on as little money as possible. After all, it won’t be long now until I make my exit. Nexters’ endgame is the end of the game, and until then, they’ll just try to squeeze more money out of it. Look for another game for yourself and your team, because things here aren’t going to get any better. Any money you put into the game now is money wasted, and trying to stop Nexters’ greed is a futile endeavor. I respect all fights for the game… but……Nexters made their decisions regarding the game a while ago and they’re going through with it ruthlessly and it is not the way what the players want. It’s an interesting game for free-to-play players—provided they have patience—but for paying players, it’s a money pit in a dying game for quite some time now. Stop believing what Nexters says; instead, judge them based on what they do—that helps.
  • A. We’ve discussed this quite a lot by now, and I understand where you’re coming from. I know my answer may sound repetitive at this point, but I continue to bring this feedback to the team — especially around spending pressure, scarcity and losing confidence in long-term progression.I don’t agree that the strategy is to squeeze as much as possible out of a dying game, but the concerns behind that conclusion are something we keep discussing internally, and I’ll continue highlighting them.

2. Time Commitment of Assembly Events and Concerns About Titan Events

  • Q. CM, I believe we will have 3 assembly events on october (martha, pet and titan) and once again i ask to relay to game design team about that nonsense of alecto/valdur assembly events, enemies do not need fusion or talismans, this is a waste of time and just and make playing the events stressful for no reason Eva still not out, so we do not know if there any changes applied
  • A. Eva’s Adventure already introduced several changes to the format, including how Talismans and rerolls work and separating the Archdemon from the main Story progression.We’re collecting feedback on these changes now and looking at how the new format actually works for players. I’ll make sure the concerns about the overall time commitment and having several Adventures close together are included as well.

3. Strong Backlash Against Astrid’s Temporary Seasonal Ascension Skills

  • Q. From the Astrid Ascension thing I see that the developers have reached a new level of madness. I diligently completed the F2P quests of the season for 20+ days, only to discover it was one of the most idiotic things to do. Yes, it unlocked lvl 1 of the 1st ascension skill… but what purpose does it serve, to have it unlocked for like THREE damn days?! And worst of all… I actually spent 100.000 emeralds in the 1 day secret wealth shop, to get enough resources to max out ALL of Astrid’s super-ascension skills. What surprise did I have to see that a few hours later those skills are GONE. This whole horse-manure of a mechanic has to be THE most disgusting, pathetic move Scamsters have EVER pulled. And I have been playing this game for over 6 years now. This whole game seems to be getting boiled down to ‘gibs us 100+ USD a month… OR ELSE! don’t matter if you already hevs 12M hero powr!’. And thankfully, this is probably my last straw. Many messed up things happened over the course of the last 3-4 years, but nothing THIS nonsensical. For context, I actually wasted like 7-8 totem balls, in an attempt to max out totems, just 1-2 weeks before the addition of new totem elemental skills… But even THAT wasn’t nearly as bad as blowing 110k emeralds and over 20 days of grinding dungeon for NOTHING.
  • A. The skill progress itself is not lost after the Season.If you haven’t permanently unlocked the skill through the corresponding Ascension branch, Season Pass, or seasonal offer, it becomes unavailable in battle after the Season ends, but the grade and partial progress you reached are saved. We also communicated this in the FAQ before the Season: the first skill can be permanently unlocked through Branch II, the second through Branch V, and later the seasonal skills are planned to get a post-Season upgrade path with regular Ascension resources.

4. Criticism Over Ascension Skill Progression Resets

  • Q. Let’s be clear: they did warn us that leftover Ascension resources in the inventory would expire. Fine. But that should NEVER apply to the actual skill progression! If a player invested resources and reached 500/750, that progress is already locked into the character. It should stay there permanently so we can finish it later with Seeds of Eternity. That is the only logical mechanic. When a player spends real money on specific resources, pumps them into a skill, and devs just wipe that entire progression investment back to zero…that is not a feature, that is **straight-up fraud**. Wiping active character progression is a scam!
  • A. I think I’ve covered the mechanics above FAQ No.XXX, so I won’t repeat all of that again.I do want to separate not liking how the system works from calling it a scam, though. It worked the way we described before the Season, there wasn’t a hidden reset or a last-minute change. But I do understand why ending the Season just short of the next Grade feels really bad, especially after you’ve spent time and resources getting there. We’ve seen that feedback, including the concerns around F2P progression and leftover resources, and the team is aware of it. I don’t have anything new to announce right now, but it is possible that we might make changes for future Seasons, we’ll let you know if that happens.

5. Pushback on Server Merge List Changes and Proposed Extra Transfer Tickets

  • Q. Facebook merge has been confirmed. but what is astonishing to me is the possibility of the change in server merge list. can someone tell me how can this developer be so unprofessional and so incompetent?Say NO to change of server merge list!!!! They could do the merge (quite many destination servers) last time, although slow, but it is possible within that half a day.
    Why can’t they just give us a break of 3-4 days of events, specifically for server merge?
    Why use events as excuse for your laziness to tweak the code a bit (or is it greed for cash from events)?
    In those 3-4 days there are still daily quests as usual, which are relatively easier to complete. And just disable COW and guild war for that 1 week.
    Why is this so hard? I don’t understand!!! If they change the server list, many previously discussed merge / plan between guilds will have to be cancelled.
    Why they don’t care about us?
    We spent DAYS AND WEEKS to find and plan for guild merge and discuss with each other, all are already finalized and just waiting for the merge.
    but now ……
    So disgusting really… so incompetent and such a disgrace!!!
  • A. I think the original announcement actually answers most of these questions — we explained there why the combinations had to change and what we took into account when forming the new groups. That said, I completely understand the frustration. The whole merge process has been far from ideal, and the delays and changes have created a lot of uncertainty and disrupted plans players had already made. We’ve learned quite a bit from what went wrong with these first waves, and we’re taking those lessons into account as we continue. I’m sorry this process has been so messy for affected players. We’re also considering sending out an additional Transfer Ticket after the merges. Before making that decision, though, we’d like to understand whether that’s actually something players want and whether it would help with some of the disruption caused by the changes. Let me know what you think.

6. Bug Causing Total Hero Power to Be Displayed as Tournament of Power Score

  • Q. CM, there is this new bug on HeroWars FB, where in every ToP group there is one player whose total hero power is showing as ToP points… Please look into it..
  • A. Hello hello! Thanks for letting me know, and the team is working on a fix as we speak. It should be recalculated within a couple of hours 🙏

  • A. Marketing is marketing 😅But yeah, I can absolutely see the irony here considering some of the feedback and discussions we’ve been having lately.
