Qing Mao’s name is Chinese. The origin of the word is probably the Blue Cat. It carries in its arms the soul of its brother, whose name is Qing Long (Blue Dragon), and is activated by the first skill.
She is a support-type warrior who excels at quick attacks. Once known as a strong hero in boss fights, she is now known for her performance in PvP, especially in the Qing Mao tank strategy.
It tends to be more popular with women than men.

Qing Mao’s Strengths and Team Strategy

Qing Mao’s primary artifact focuses on Armor penetration, making her excellent at supporting physical DPS heroes.
Heroes with Armor penetration artifacts are typically difficult to use due to activation limitations, but Qing Mao and Tristan are notable exceptions with high activation frequency. This makes them popular choices as penetration buffers.
Heroes with armor penetration as their primary artifact often act as sub-DPS, dealing some damage themselves. Qing Mao stands out as having the most firepower among them, and even serves as the main attacker in certain situations.
In addition to her first artifact, Qing Mao’s fourth skill reduces both armor and maximum Health. This affects heroes whose skills rely on Health, such as Corvus and Martha.
Qing Mao has the highest Evasion base stats of any Hero, surpassing even Aurora, Dante, and Heidi. This makes her a viable tank in certain setups, especially when paired with the Patron Cain.
In a Qing Mao tank teams, she can deploy armor-piercing buffs with incredible speed, often destroying the enemy tank in seconds.
Qing Mao excels at fast attacks and is a good fit with fast-attacking physical DPS heroes like Keira and Lara Croft.
Because of her fast-attack style, healers can be a good or bad match. However, Aidan and Thea are often chosen to support her.
Heroes who specialize in support, such as Sebastian and Nebula, also work well with Qing Mao.
Although Qing Mao deals primarily Physical damage, the additional attack of Blue Dragon (Qing Long) deals Pure damage. Normally, the Pure damage added to Physical damage is negated by Physical damage nullification. However, Qing Mao is an exception to this rule. When fully buffed, she can help physical teams overcome Physical Damage Nullification in Adventure 13!
Her first skill generates a continuous stream of Pure damage to counter high decay defenses. This has certain effects as a Heidi counter.
The first skill has knockback. This allows for effective support of ranged attacks with continuous activation in a Ching Mao tank formation. Daredevil fits especially well.
If the opposing team relies on Khorus for debuff reduction, Qing Mao’s knockback cannot be stopped, making her particularly effective.
While not ideal with all tanks, it works reasonably well with Galahad due to their mutual knockback abilities.
The Darkness debuff triggers her second Ascension skill, allowing for powerful combos with Fenris and other skill effects.

Disadvantages of Qing Mao

Qing Mao’s support performance relies heavily on top-tier physical DPS Heroes.While effective, she is not a hero with high overall versatility, and her success is often limited by specific conditions.
She has low armor for her speed and lacks high Health. She also has no magic defense and no self-defense skills, making her one of the first to fall in battle.
Once on the defensive, Qing Mao has no means of self-protection, and her defeat often leads to team collapse.
Her defensive fragility makes her unsuitable for teaming with Heroes in a tanking role, though Tristan may be a better pairing option.
Qing Mao’s third skill deals percentage damage to bosses, making her useful against high-health bosses. However, after acquiring her first Ascension skill, the boss’s maximum Health is lowered, negating this benefit. Even so, if her Ascension stops at the second level, her stats are too low to be effective in fights beyond the early game.
Although she relies on Dodge, her primary artifact does not increase Dodge, limiting her ability to protect her team.
Qing Mao is fragile when underpowered. The only stats she can afford to compromise are Health and Magic Defense.
Most heroes can perform well in both fast-attack and persistent combat, but Qing Mao is limited to fast-attack strategies.
She is vulnerable to DPS heroes like Dante and Ishmael, who are often trained by many players. Certain team compositions almost guarantee her defeat.
Her low base stats make it easy for opponents to dodge her attacks, especially when heroes like Aurora or Dante constantly increase their dodge. In these situations, Qing Mao is likely to lose.
Qing Mao’s frontline play style makes her struggle against double tank setups. Even if she does well in the beginning, tanks that delay the battle can negate her fast-attack advantages and lead to a losing outcome.
Qing Mao relies heavily on knockback, but if the opposing team has a counter like Andvari, her effectiveness is little diminished.
To take advantage of knockback, the presence of Dorian on the opposing team is a disadvantage.
Unlike versatile support heroes like Sebastian and Nebula, who work well with any team, Qing Mao is more specialized. Even among physical DPS Heroes, she doesn’t play well with slow attackers like K’arkh.
Heroes with armor-piercing artifacts are usually effective only in limited circumstances. While Qing Mao has more versatility than others, her overall potential does not exceed the limits of this category.
