Role Guide
This guide focuses on user experience roles rather than specific in-game mechanics. Understanding these roles can help optimize team composition and strategy.
- Tank: Tanks absorb damage on the front lines and often provide Armor or Dodge buffs to allies. A team with two tanks is called a double-tank composition. However, tanks are not mandatory; teams without tanks are called tankless.
- DPS (Core): The primary damage dealer, focused on dealing maximum damage. While typically fragile, certain Tankless Assault compositions put DPS heroes at the forefront and take advantage of their unique characteristics. These compositions are often named after the hero leading the assault, such as Dante Tank or Yasmine Tank.
- DPS (Secondary): A secondary damage dealer with less raw firepower than the main DPS, but who excels at support attacks. Often a key part of double-DPS formations, they provide buffs to the main DPS while dealing moderate damage. In physical teams, they often provide Armor penetration buffs to increase the effectiveness of the core DPS. Depending on the build, a secondary DPS can occasionally act as the main attacker.
- Support/Control: These heroes specialize in buffing allies or debuffing opponents. Support specialists focus on amplifying allies with buffs, while control specialists focus on shutting down opponents with debuffs. Many Heroes act as hybrids, combining both support and control skills.
- Healers: Healers focus primarily on restoring health to allies. Many Healers also provide support skills, and some can even serve as effective secondary DPS attackers.
